Golden Bridge (Ba Na Hills) – Da Nang

ShareTweet

Standing 1,400m above sea level in Vietnam, the Golden Bridge resembles something out of a Tolkien novel or a Led Zeppelin song. Constructed and opened in 2018, this breathtaking bridge spans 490 feet and offers sweeping, panoramic views of the Ba Na Hills below.

In the short time since its opening, it has garnered a reputation as an extremely popular and Instagrammable tourist attraction.

Features

The Golden Bridge is the perfect synthesis between architecture and nature. While it gets its name from the golden railings that flank its sides, the bridge’s most iconic feature is the two giant hands that seemingly suspend it in midair. These hands were deliberately given a calloused and aged appearance to give the impression it had been holding the bridge up for generations.

Walking on the Golden Bridge evokes an ethereal, otherworldly feeling. As the Ba Na Hills lay underneath, visitors are treated to a stunning view of both the clouds and the underlying greenery.

Unsurprisingly, the Golden Bridge has become a hit with both tourists and locals. It’s not uncommon to see newlyweds taking their wedding photos or models posing with the latest fashion. In the three years since its opening, the Golden Bridge has already established itself as one of the region’s most iconic landmarks.

Getting There

Getting to the Golden Bridge requires taking a taxi to Ba Na Hills followed by a soaring gondola ride to the summit. There is an entrance fee that includes the gondola ride, a tour of the bridge, and entrance to the Ba Na Hills Sun World.

This charming resort is home to several hotels, bars, restaurants, and live entertainment venues. In its previous life, it housed over 200 villas for French ex-pats.

The Golden Bridge has already cemented its place in the popular culture of Vietnam. If you’re traveling to Da Nang, then this incredible structure will undoubtedly be a highlight of your trip.
