Whether you’re flying into the country or jumping from city to city, there are plenty of airports for you to choose from while visiting Vietnam. Boasting multiple national and international airports, getting from place to place is no problem when you’re flying over 30,000 feet above the ground.

List of International Airports in Vietnam

Being a long “S”-shaped country, Vietnam is home to a dozen international airports, with the 3 most-frequented being Noi Bai International, Tan Son Nhat International, and Da Nang International. There are also regional airports serving other routes. Hanoi, Saigon, Da Nang, and probably Phu Quoc Island are the main entry points into Vietnam.

With twenty-three domestic and international airports, Vietnam is well-prepared for the jet-set traveler!

The three main international airports, which you will almost certainly arrive at when entering the country, are Noi Bai International in Hanoi, Tan Son Nhat International in Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang International in Da Nang.ย But, if youโ€™re planning to explore Vietnam outside of the major cities, you might find yourself booking flights into obscure-sounding local airports.

Some are sparkling, modern affairs, while others are decades old or even re-purposed airfields left behind after the Vietnam war.nAll these facilities are managed by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam and, despite some being a little long in the tooth, they boast strong safety records.

The passenger experience can vary wildly between locations, so itโ€™s good to know what to expect in advance. Certain airports typically operate at only half capacity, so you can expect a peaceful and almost frictionless experience. On the other hand, some are full to bursting at certain times of the year, making it wise to allocate extra transfer time.

Even getting to and from the airports isnโ€™t always as straightforward as it might seem! So wherever you are flying in the country, just know our comprehensive resource will give you everything you need to know about each location, how to get there, and what to expect!
