7 Best Zip Lines in Vietnam

ShareTweet

Soaring hundreds of meters over lush foliage, ziplining in Vietnam allows you to take in the country’s natural beauty from a new perspective. While ziplines exist in destinations around the world, the ones found here are particularly stunning, whisking you through national parks, near waterfalls, and into thriving jungles.

In no particular order, here are the top zip lines in Vietnam:

Nha โ€“ Ke Bang National Park โ€“ Quang Binh Province

Phong Nha โ€“ Ke Bang National Park, in north-central Vietnam, is a must-see attraction. This gorgeous set of rounded mountains covered in dense vegetation is home to the world’s biggest cave: Son Doong. There are also several other impressive cave systems that offer stunning geological landscapes right out of a dream.

But when getting to the appropriately named Dark Cave, visitors have the option of arriving by zipline. There are two parallel lines that lead to the entrance of the Dark Cave ( named due to the dark-colored stone and lack of artificial lighting). The lines stretch across a 400-meter length, spanning a broad jungle river and depositing would-be spelunkers at their destination.

Of course, the zipline is just part of the fun. Explorers entering the Dark Cave will find their cavern becoming increasingly narrow, eventually ending up in a mud pit. Guests will then have the opportunity to rinse off in the cave’s brisk river before making their way back.

A full day at Phong Nha โ€“ Ke Bang National Park is a must for anyone visiting the area, so you might as well get some additional adrenaline by ziplining.

Ho May Park โ€“ Vung Tau City

Moving all the way south to the Mekong Delta, near the South China Sea in Vung Tau City, the Ho May Resort offers zip lining as part of its larger amusement park experience. Perched atop a mountain, the resort and adjacent amusement park offer one-stop lodging and entertainment.

Besides the zipline, the park offers attractions such as an alpine coaster, waterslides, and animal encounters as well as being able to stroll through temples and view religious statues.

While Vung Tau City isn’t a normal stop on the tourist route, if you’re going to be in the area, the Ho May Resort is self-contained when it comes to dining, accommodations, and entertainment needs. And once again, the option of riding a zipline is an integral part of the larger experience.

Hoa Phu Thanh Playground โ€“ Da Nang

Da Nang is already well-established as a great base of operations for the many tourist attractions in Central Vietnam. Day trips can take you to the ancient capital of Hue, the world heritage trading village of Hoi An, the evocative, jungle-covered ruins at My Son, and the Ba Na Hills amusement park.

As if that wasn’t enough to fill a visitor’s itinerary, a ziplining option lies about 30 km outside of town at the Hoa Phu Thanh Playground, where, much like at Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, the ziplining is part of the greater experience.

The main activity for a trip out to Hoa Phu Thanh Playground is to ride in a two-person pontoon boat as you make your way through several man-made waterfall ‘slides’. Moreover, the option to try your hand at ziplining from treetop to treetop with a jungle stream glimmering far beneath your feet.

If you’re hoping to combine the adrenaline rush of ziplining with the relaxation of natural springs, the Alba Thanh Tan Hot Springs Resort, located some 30 km northwest of Hue, will check both your boxes. As the name would suggest, the natural hot springs located in this rural area make for a serene setting to soak and relax your body.

What may not be as obvious are the numerous other amenities to be found on site. The zipline is a somewhat recent attraction, and you will find yourself soaring over verdant treetops on your way down the mountain. There are also swimming pools, restaurants, and a host of therapeutic treatments also available.

Plus, with such proximity to the UNESCO World Heritage Site city of Hue, you can feed your mind and soul on the abundant cultural attractions, then zip down the mountain and end it all with a healthy soak. Not a bad way to spend one’s vacation.

Situated nearly halfway between Ho Chi Minh City and Da Lat, in Lam Dong Province, Madagui Forest is an outdoor park with multiple soft adventure opportunities. Set in the mountainous region of the Central Highlands and surrounded by pristine forest, visitors can zip-line their way across a total of 3,645 feet (1,111 meters) of cable cutting a swath through the dense foliage.

If that’s not enough adventure for you, guests also have the option of whitewater rafting, kayaking or even playing a round of paintball in this natural playground. Unlike some of the other more popular ziplines in the country, Madagui Forest isn’t conveniently located near a major city.

You’ll either have to make a dedicated trip by car or bus from Ho Chi Minh City (125 kilometers) or Da Lat (142 kilometers). Still, spending time in the heart of the Vietnamese landscape, and perhaps taking an extra day at nearby Cat Tien National Park, will be a refreshing break from the hectic energy of Vietnam’s major cities.
