Bach Long Pedestrian Bridge, Viet Nam

Bach Long Pedestrian Bridge – Son La Province

With a name translated to English as “White Dragon,” Bach Long pedestrian bridge in Son La Province is a treat for sightseers who aren’t afraid of heights. It first opened on April 30, 2022, and has already attracted thousands to come and experience this magnificent structure located in the Moc Chau Island Tourist Area.

The 632-meter/2073-foot glass-bottom bridge is claimed to be the world’s longest of its kind and weaves through a climactic valley between two mountain peaks. Suspended at 150 meters/490 feet high, walkers on the bridge get a bird’s eye view of the lush forestry below. The width of the deck is 2.4 meters/8 feet, with enough space for a couple of people to be next to each other.

The tempered glass is a French product and is strong enough to allow between 450-500 people on the bridge at one time. It’s been stated that the bridge will only allow one-way traffic to control the number of people on it at once and keep the weight limit manageable.

Even though the entire pathway is see-through to the trees below, the bridge has three layers of glass and is about 40mm/1.5 inches thick. Before it opened, they tested its strength by driving cars and trucks over the bridge.

Since this is an attraction, tickets must be purchased to go on the bridge. It’s located in the Moc Chau district of Northwest Vietnam.
